Given that the use of medicinal cannabis is a new development in the Cook Islands, it is crucial to carefully consider all relevant aspects in the establishment of a comprehensive framework. This framework should encompass the following objectives:
Undertaking ongoing research, education, and training initiatives.
Facilitating the importation, prescription, and local production of medicinal cannabis within the Cook Islands.
Thoroughly assessing and managing all associated risks.
Implementing effective regulatory measures to govern the industry.
The successful implementation of these objectives will require an allocation of additional resources to address these matters in detail
