The Cook Islands Government welcomes the visit of New Zealand Minister of Foreign Affairs the Rt. Hon. Winston Peters tomorrow as part of ongoing engagement between the Cook Islands and New Zealand.
The visit reflects the commitment of the Cook Islands Government to maintaining a stable and constructive relationship, grounded in partnership and shared values.
Prime Minister Hon. Mark Brown said the engagement is an important step in continuing direct dialogue between partners.
“Our focus is on ensuring we have a clear and practical understanding of how we work together, now and into the future.”
The visit will provide an opportunity for both Governments to progress discussions on areas of mutual interest, including cooperation across key sectors.
This builds on recent engagement between the two countries, including the Prime Minister’s visit to New Zealand earlier this month, and ongoing official-level discussions.
Further information will be provided following the conclusion of the visit.
