The Office of the Prime Minister today announces the launch of a new national video series, E Avaiki Toku, beginning tomorrow across television and online platforms.
The series brings to life the national theme of the Cook Islands’ 60th anniversary: Kua kite au i toku turanga, e Avaiki toku – I know who I am, I have a homeland.
E Avaiki Toku is a short-form video series that reflects on who we are as Cook Islanders, where we come from, and why our future remains steady and strong. It brings together voices from across the country, including leadership, culture, faith, youth, and community, to speak directly to our people.
The first episode features Prime Minister Hon. Mark Brown, who reflects on the Cook Islands’ journey from 1965 to today, and what gives him confidence in the nation’s future.
The series will air on CITV and Vaka TV, and will be shared across Government and community online platforms. It will also be extended to Cook Islands communities in New Zealand, Australia and across the Pacific.
Each episode explores a central theme of confidence, identity, and direction, and highlights the foundations that continue to guide national progress, including culture, language, leadership, and community.
“Our story is grounded in who we are, where we come from, and the choices we continue to make as a country,” said Prime Minister Mark Brown. “E Avaiki Toku is about reminding our people that our standing is strong, and our future is ours to shape.”
The Office of the Prime Minister acknowledges those who have contributed to the development and production of this series. Meitaki ma’ata to Motone Productions, Creators Hype, and the Ministry of Culture and Development.
