e-Government Strategy
The e-Government Strategy was initially developed by the ICT team in 2005 before being distributed to the Heads of Ministries for comment. The strategy has still to be ratified but it contains reference to the National Sustainability Development Plan (2004) and the National ICT Policy (2004).
e-Government Project
This is a joint UNDP and the Government of Cook Islands project which was initiated in January 2006. The objective is to establish websites for all government Ministries and to coordinate all public service activities within an e-Government portal which will link popular public requests directly to Ministry information and downloadable forms.
e-Government Readiness Assessment and Audit
In preparation for the implementation of the e-Government Project, an e-Readiness audit was carried out. This identified areas in which the public service would have to improve in order to successfully implement e-Government. The Harvard (CID) methodology was used and a detailed analysis is included here
Please refer to e-Readiness Assessment for Cook Islands by SOPAC and their preliminary results.
Please also refer to Services and Government Network for a detailed work plan under this project.
