We are responsible for administering the National Sustainable Development Plan for the Cook Islands Government.  It is our key role to provide support to Cabinet through the provision of sound advice regarding national policies and plans. 

This planning and policy support service extends to all Government Ministries and Crown Agencies or State Owned Enterprises. The CPPO are key facilitators for new development programmes and initiatives that is later mainstreamed to a relevant or appropriate Ministry or Stakeholder.  We facilitate communications between and among stakeholders and provide input into national, regional and international planning reports or policy documents.

We cover a wide range of programmes within the national policy and planning framework of the Public Service.  As a central agency, the Office of the Prime Minister is to perform functions that support governance, economic development and demonstrate social responsibility to its people and environment.
